Making this paper craft took WAY longer than I expected it to. Clocking in at around 13 hours, it’s by far the longest I’ve spent working on any craft to date.

BSG Raider I never would I have thought that making something out of paper could be so difficult.

While cutting it out, I ended up with a nasty dent in my index finger which continued to hurt for about a week after I was done cutting.

And the glue, oh man, the glue. I was pretty careful, but it will be awhile before my fingers are completely super glue free. When they say “instant” bonding to skin, they aren’t kidding around!

I shall be starting the editing process tonight, so hopefully I’ll be able to wrap it all up at some point later this month. Look forward to that soon(ish)

Back in the 90s someone I knew made me a decorative black mage from Final Fantasy using perler beads. I’ve always thought it was cool, and have kept it around somewhere handy.

When my girlfriend suggested I make a Nintendo controller business card for my next video, I immediately went in search of how I could get my hands on some of these beads. It turns out they’re pretty cheap, and easy to get.

Although I borrowed the idea from an etsy post, I tweaked the pattern just a bit to look more like an actual NES controller. Of course it’s probably simpler to get one from the original etsy listing. But it’s my intention to eventually complete the Final Fantasy set of characters with beads.

Hi I’m Paul, and you’re watching That’s PS – Nerdcrafting. This episode I’m going to show you how to put together a flying dragon wooden puzzle

This has been one of the more complicated video’s I’ve ever put together. There were hundreds of cuts, zooms and overlays. I hope the work shows through.

I got this kit for valentines from my girlfriend Annie. She’s super awesome. Her daughter helped pick it out for me. I had a great time making it, and thoroughly enjoyed putting this video together to show it off.

Script

You’ll need the kit, a sheet of sandpaper and some glue.

When unpacking all of the pieces, take lots of time and be gentle. This is only balsa wood, so it breaks really easily. Make sure to sand any rough edges on the pieces as you go.
This is going to move pretty fast, since there’s 121 pieces to show you. So if you’re following along with the kit, I apologize in advance. If you’re just watching, enjoy the show!
I’d also like to say a big thanks to Annie and Noemie for hooking me up with this puzzle!

First, I’m going to find the center of the dragon and put all of his chest scales on. If you do this with glue, and I recommend you do, make sure that you finish the sides of the body at the same time so the glue doesn’t have a chance to dry. You’ll need to tweak the placement of scales as you go.

Boo plush toy [How to]

What you’ll need to make the boo plush

4 pieces of felt, 2 white, one red and one black. I was pretty tight on white felt, so you may want to get a third sheet just in case.

You’ll need velcro, I used sticky back round pieces. Scissors, Needle and thread, a bunch of stuffing and a hot glue gun.

Cut one of the white sheets in half

Then cut the sides of boo out. They should look like 2 bubbly quotes

Out of the other white sheet, cut a piece that looks like a leaf. Mine was too wide, and I had to make it thinner later. I also cut the tip of one end off.

Cut out the top of boo’s tail out of the scraps.

Cut a small rectangle, then line it up with the top of the tail piece, and make into a trapezoid.

Lastly for boo’s body, you’ll need to cut his wings out of the leftovers. I cut two triangles, and then cut the sides off the triangles, so it looks like a house. You’ll need two of these, the same size.

Time to sew one side of boo to the center piece. Line up the point of the leaf shaped piece with the tip of the tail, and start sewing along the bottom of boo along the entire side of the leaf. Stop when you reach the flattened portion of the leaf piece.
