With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I’d make a video with something you can use to make your halloween just a little bit nerdier (or depending on where you’re sitting, way cooler) this year.
I spent some time last weekend to carve Boba Fett (From Star Wars) into a pumkin. Overall, it was pretty simple to do. It took about 2 1/2 hours including all the gut scooping, but that time would be GREATLY reduced if I had a proper poking tool to work with. Unfortunately my sisters dog ate the one we had while we were removing the insides of our pumpkin.
Originally I had planned to make a river (from Firefly) pumpkin, but after I thought about it for a bit, realized that it would be way outside my ability. I’ve never really done any sort of fancy pumpkin carving before, so I thought I’d start with something a little less fancy.
I also should have printed out a template just a tiny bit smaller. I used the 8×10 version, but the 7×9 size probably would have fit just a little bit better. I’ve included a link to all of the different sizes you’re likely to want below. A word of caution though; The smaller you go, the harder it will be to keep from snapping the remaining pumpkin pieces as your carving.

Thanks for the templates and instructions. I carved one for my grandson since Boba is his favorite character. It turned out really well. I’ll be glad to send a photo if you like. I used a corn on the cob poker for my poke tool and a grapefruit knife for carving.

I would love to see a photo. It sounds like your grandson has great taste in Star Wars characters. Boba Fett’s been my favourite since I was litte too 🙂
